New Mexico State University has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a leading producer of online degrees in its 2013 Best Online Education Programs rankings.

NMSU ranks 52nd in Best Online Graduate Nursing Programs, 134th in Best Online Graduate Education Programs and 157th in the Best Online Bachelors Programs.

“Online graduate nursing programs are helping to fulfill the Institute of Medicine’s recommendation that nurses acquire higher graduate degrees and practice at the level of their education,” said Pam Schultz, College of Health and Social Services associate dean and director of the School of Nursing. “Our programs are in high demand and we are proud to help in the production of graduate nurses.”

“This recognition demonstrates NMSU’s commitment to excellence and commitment to student access – wherever they might be,” said NMSU College of Education Dean Michael Morehead. “We are proud to serve Aggies pursuing a career in education here in Las Cruces and those studying with us elsewhere.”

NMSU also was recently recognized by “Diverse Issues in Higher Education” as a top producer of Native American undergraduate education degrees. The publication ranked NMSU 24th in the nation in this area.
